KATE AND MAE
ABOUT
Kate and Mae is a faith-based jewelry business owned by sisters Kate and Mae Parsons. Inspired by Matthew 5:16, the girls created the brand to encourage young women to use their unique gifts to express themselves and volunteer to help others. The owners expressed a desire for a different brand direction that would appeal to a more mature demographic of women as well as younger girls. I, alongside three others, created this concept in response.

ROLE / PROCESS
The brand had a strong foundation of beliefs and motivations, but their design lacked in terms of marketing towards young adults and older women. My group centered our concept around the pearl, which we felt represented the individuality and shine of the customers. The pearl element inspired our color palette and was incorporated into our logotype. We made a range of applications, including packaging, signage, and even animation. My role in the group focused more on refining the submark, as pointed out on the previous slide, and designing the digital interface. We aimed for a simple, fun, and elegant feel that matched the tone of the business, and I enjoyed experimenting with pop‑ups and other promotional elements.
